Dr. Anuja Pethe is primarily a consulting paediatrician. She completed her MBBS in 2003 under MUHS (Maharashtra. University of health sciences) from MGM medical College Navi Mumbai. Further, she completed her post graduate degree in Pediatrics – DNB ( Diplomate of National Board) under National Board of examinations, New Delhi. She trained at Dr Balabhai Nanavati Hospital – Vile Parle as part of her President ship.
Presently she is working as a consultant paediatrician since the last 15 years and is actively promoting healthy habits in her patients and their families. She believes in going beyond just treating the illness to giving a holistic care to her patients. Currently she is pursuing a diploma from the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine which is affiliated to the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. This will enable her to help children and adults with remission and reversal of chronic conditions.
How it all started
Dr. Anuja started her own clinical practice of Pediatrics from a Polyclinic in Vile Parle. At the time she was mothering her infant daughter who took up most of her time, and taught her valuable practical parenting! The time in the clinic was a respite from the demands of parenthood and an opportunity to practice the art and craft for which she had trained.
The initial years of practice where things start slow, allowed her to devote more time to her baby. Fortunately, the practice and the baby grew together enabling her to balance both roles beautifully.
Out of experience, she realised that parents were more likely to follow her advice if she gave time to them and explained things in detail. This also helped reduce their anxiety. Although this approach took up more time per consultation, it gave her very good results and immense work satisfaction.
She started applying her ideas and learnings as a parent and soon realised this practical approach was very helpful to parents and her little patients. As she evolved as a parent, so did her advice. It was based on personal experience and was practical and doable.
Dealing with kids involves not only sickness consultations but also vaccination and well child check ups. She believes in a holistic development of the child and not just getting better from sickness. Thus all her consultations involve growth tracking, developmental assessment and useful advice on nutrition, physical activity and healthy habits tailored for each patient.
She also realised food is an important aspect of good health and started giving detailed guidance appropriate for the patient’s age.
As part of her clinic work she started offering workshops for Complementary Feeding, Lactation and Newborn care, Fussy eaters, School health, adolescent health and puberty, menstrual hygiene and many more.
In continuing with her passion for holistic wellness, she is pursuing a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine to add to her repertoire.
She now gives wellness and lifestyle consultations to children and adults for treatment and reversal of chronic conditions.
She believes in the ‘life cycle approach’ to good health and helps young adults and expecting parents to get healthy. Healthy young adults will beget a healthier new generation and lead to a healthier society at large.
Over the years her practice has evolved and now caters to not just “newborn to 18 years age” but also beyond. The focus is health maintenance and disease prevention not just for the child but also for the entire family.

Dr. Anuja’s Address
If you are reading this, I would like to think of you as a kindred soul.
I am a doctor first but I am also a mother, a home-maker, a daughter, a sister, a wife. I am also an individual who is seeking her purpose on this journey of life. I am a sensitive human being trying to make sense of this world. I am a conscientious person trying to do the right thing. I am a seeker striving to do my calling!!
I realise we all are on this continuum which starts with physical well being and encompasses the well being of all including our planet. We all have a role to play.
Good health is so much more than mere absence of disease. It is the perfect harmony of the mind, body and spirit. Good health is when we are able to achieve our potential and fulfil our life’s purpose.
A happy healthy life for all begins with a happy family. Happy families begin with happy children. They are our future and we need to consciously work towards their good health. In doing so we too benefit as a family.
Embrace healthy cooking. Have your children involved in home chores. Spend time as a family. Model good behaviour for them by being active and being mindful.
I feel we have been granted a privilege to shape young lives which will ultimately be our future. We have the power to decide the path our future will take.
It all depends on how and what we eat, how active we are and how conscientious we are about the resources we have.
Let us do full justice to this role and do our best for our family, our society and our planet Earth at large.
वसुधैव कुटुंबकं।
The whole world is a big family.
From staying healthy ourselves and keeping our family healthy , let us move forward on this continuum and strive to make our planet healthy as well.
Let us consider the impact our activities have on our planet and let us pledge to change for the better.
Luckily what is healthy for us is also healthy for our planet.
A whole food Plant predominant eating pattern is the most healthy for both us and our Earth. It is also kinder to animals and our environment.
It is an all round winning situation and I want more and more people to realise its importance and jump on board for a better living.
I am here to help and guide you. I am also here to share my experiences and learn together from our collective experiences.
Let us together make a difference!
