1. What are Lifestyle consultations?

Lifestyle consultations cover the 6 pillars of lifestyle namely, nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, avoiding harmful substances and fostering positive social connections.
in these consultations, each pillar will be tackled separately after your thorough history. The discussion and guidance will be tailormade for individual patient taking the unique circumstances related to work, personal life and home environment, depending on the availability of various resources such as access to fresh produce, exercise gyms etc.
Basically, Lifestyle consultations look at a patient holistically and address each aspect to improve wellbeing.

2. How long does a Lifestyle consultation take?

It typically requires about 1 hour for the first visit. Subsequent sessions are planned as per patient’s requirement and can range between 30-45 minutes. Frequency is also dependent on patient requirements.

3. Is 1 consultation enough or do I need multiple sessions?

This is decided on case to case basis. But usually a few consultations will be beneficial as the aim is to find the best sustainable lifestyle for that person and help the person improve upon it in a holistic doable way. Follow up consultations will be needed as per individual case.

4. Are there any packages that you offer?

Lifestyle consultations are individualized and we can tailor-make the package for you after the first initial consultation.

5. How are these lifestyle consultations different than my regular doctor visits? Do I still need to see my regular doctor?

Lifestyle consultations are meant to look at each aspect of your lifestyle and improve them to achieve better health. Most chronic illnesses have roots in our lifestyle and tackling the causes of these illness leads to improvement in their symptoms. You will have to continue all your existing medications and as your lifestyle improves, your regular doctor may have to reduce your medications.
Lifestyle consultations are not a replacement for medications but they will complement each other such that medications can be better optimized and many times reduced.
The aim is to achieve overall well being of the patient and not just control or cure of the primary illness.

6. Since improving lifestyle is a longterm project, do we also get longterm support on phone or messages for same?

After a single consultation, a weekly support is given upto a month. The duration may vary for individual packages. This will be informed to you at the time of consultation. Beyond the stipulated time, it is best to schedule a repeat consultation as many life circumstances may change and this may require a repeat evaluation of the patient. A telephonic advice may not be appropriate without a repeat evaluation in order to ensure best patient care.
